Q: What is object storage?

A: Object storage is a storage architecture that manages data as objects, as opposed to other storage architectures like file systems which manage data as a files or block storage, which manages data as blocks within sectors and tracks.


Q: How do I use object storage?

A: Our support page provides information on several object clients.


Q: How much storage can I use during the beta?

A: There are no quota limits on accounts during the beta.


Q: How do I create an account?

A: Accounts for the beta test can be created on our accounts site.


Q: How will to beta last?

A: The beta ends June 2017


Q: What happens to my account and data after the beta period?

A: The system will be rebuilt and all data and accounts will be lost without possibility of recovery.


Q: What data should I store in the object system during the beta period?

A: You must follow all university computing policies.


Q: Why are you doing this?

A: We want you to break the system now instead of later 🙂
